Public Access Locations
Green dots represent public access locations.

Access from Bridges
Fuchsia colored dots represent bridges.
In Montana, the public has access to surface waters by public bridge or county road right-of-way.
Hiking Access
Yellow dots represent where a hiking trail intersects a river.
Follow the hiking trail back to the trailhead to plan access.
New York State Public Fishing Rights
When available, easement information is provided to facilitate river access planning.
In NY, Public Fishing Rights (PFR's) are easements giving anglers the right to fish and walk along the bank.
Ask First
Plan to obtain permission whether the land you would like to fish is posted or not, as it is a courtesy and act of respect to the landowner.
